The Heritage Foundation Crew went searching for the crash site of Lynn Daker's B-25 shot down in the Philippines near Cebu Island on xxx xxx 1945. All crew members made it out of the ditching except the turret gunner. This story is Lynn's mission to take care of his crewman.
Day One: 18 Feb 2009
Day one of the Search for 44-29586 starts with the incessant alarm at 0400. Showers, Breakfast, equipment checks, load the van, and depart at 0530. ......
Day Two: 19 Feb 2009
The day began early today. We wanted to be at the boat to make sure we got a full day in. Our enthusiasm is only out done by our optimism at this point...........
Day Three: 20 Feb 2009
Once again we are up early, at the boat and heading to the search area by 0730. We decide to do a couple of sonar passes from the mouth of the river to the primary search area, just in case they were guessing their position too far out. ..............
Day Four: 21 Feb 2009
The phone rang off and on all last night. We passed out some American cigarettes and a few 100 peso notes (about $2) for information leading us to the plane. .............
Epilogue
We got back in San Remegio and sat down as a team one last time before we would all return home and back to our own lives and families. ..........
